The Mosque is not only a place of worship for the local Muslim community, it has also held and continues to hold many important events and conferences with internationally renowned keynote speakers that have provided benefit for the many Muslims across the whole of the UK.Īs we embark on the first ten days of this blessed month, our thoughts and prayers are with those undertaking the sacred pilgrimage of Hajj during this time. Our ethos is to provide a lifelong learning and development opportunity alongside addressing the social and spiritual needs of Muslims, helping them positively contribute towards the diverse Britain we live in today.The mosque works closely with Imams, teachers and community organisations, we aim to accommodate every aspect of the needs of the individual and wider community. It is frequented used by visitors from local schools, colleges, other educational institutions and community/faith groups from Rotherham and surrounding areas. The mosque is used by many of the muslims that work and live in Rotherham. It is located in the Eastwood area which is diverse and rich in culture and heritage. Jamia Masjid Abu Bakr is Rotherham central and largest mosque, it is situated a stone’s throw away from the heart of the town centre.
